Filaria Project

 
The project commenced in the month of April 2009 till July ’09 in Ward no.06 and from December onwards, the number of Wards increased to 9 Wards, consisting of around 3 Lakh families.

The project is being funded by Health office, Vadodara Mahanagar Seva Sadan. To control all the diseases which are vector borne, like Malaria, Dengue, etc., fixed and unfixed containers are treated daily, covering all the areas within one week’s time. Also, awareness about precautions against these diseases is spread through Group Meetings with the ward inspectors and supervisors.
 

Link Worker Scheme

 
Link Worker Scheme has been active since 14th of Nov. 2008, to enhance AIDS knowledge, information on skills and services provided, among High Risk Groups, Youths and Adults. This project is effectively running in 3 Blocks, Waghodia, Dabhoi & Shinor.

Through this project, awareness generation towards enhancing the utilization of condoms prevention through safe sex practices, support programmes and and behavior change among young people, are also handled through counseling, by establishing referrals and linkages for various services including testing, treatment and support services. Try to create an enabling environment for PLHAs and their families, by reducing stigma and discrimination against PLHA and their families.
 

Young People Program Supported By UNICEF

 
This project strives towards creating awareness among adolescents and youths, by providing sex education through various activities, about services provided by Primary Health Centres (PHCs) for early detection and prompt treatment of RTI/STI. Also, establish linkages between the youths and Health Service Centers.

The inception of this project took place on 1st March, 2008, in 3 blocks Waghodia, Dabhoi and Shinor Taluka with total population of 4, 88, 077, covering 254 villages. Post intervention, the target areas have witnesses, quite Youth Information Centers (YICs) have been started in core High risk areas of – 13 in Waghodia, 09 in Dabhoi and 11 in Shinor Talukas. People with High Risk Behaviour (HRG) are also coming forward for ICTC. Also, partner management cases and health seeking behavior (treatment for STI) has increased among the population.
